On Friday 12th May the Year 13s celebrated Leavers’ Day in style wearing fancy dress inspired by the first letter of their names. Among the colourful array of costumes we had several Elvis Presleys, one bananas-in-pajamas, one SpongeBob SquarePants, one Robin Hood and a Rubik’s Cube!
Our most senior year group started the day with a leisurely breakfast in the common room prepared by the sixth form team, before heading off to their form rooms for one last time. A final assembly in A Hall followed which comprised speeches, video goodbyes, nostalgic photo retrospectives of the students’ time at Rushcliffe School and a special edition of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ won by Connor Pannell Howard.
Although it was a bittersweet day, much fun was had by all, and we look forward to seeing everyone reunited on 23rd June, when the A Level exams are over, to celebrate at the Year 13 prom.
Throughout the past two years our Year 13s have done us proud and have been a great credit to themselves and to our school. We are sad to see them go and wish them all the very best in their final revision and exams over the next five weeks.
