Book Club have been reading the 6 books shortlisted for the Nottinghamshire County Council Inspire Brilliant Book Award 2023. On Wednesday 8th February we visited Carlton le Willows Academy to meet Dan Smith, author of Nisha’s War, one of the shortlisted books.
Dan’s talk was followed by a lively question and answer session and many students took the opportunity to buy one of Dan’s books and have it signed.

After half term we are looking forward to hearing virtual talks from three of the other shortlisted authors, including answers to questions sent in by the students, and another trip, this time to Arnold Hill Spencer Academy, to meet Darren Simpson, author of Furthermoor, another of the shortlisted books.
