International Links

We have established relationships with a range of people, schools and other organisations across the world. We are committed to giving pupils the opportunity to engage with and learn from other countries and cultures so that they are better placed to take up their place within a rich and diverse global community. We want Rushcliffe pupils to be people who bring about change for the better in our world.

Here are some of the schools with whom we have developed a relationship over the last few years:

  • China: The Ningbo Foreign Language school, Ningbo
  • France: Collège Charles Desvergnes, Bellegarde
  • Guatemala: Escuela Proyecto La Esperanza
  • Nepal: Goodwill Activity School, Pokhara
  • Spain: La Estrella, Madrid
  • The Netherlands: Edison College, Apeldoorn
  • USA: De Valle High School, Austin, Texas
  • India: Epistemo Vikas Leadership School, Hyderabad
  • Tanzania: Chuini Secondary School, Zanzibar
  • Tunisia: Ibnou Sina Secondary School, Sousse

Understanding of our place in the world, global history and different cultures is embedded across our curriculum, in assemblies, through our enrichment programmes and through a range of other events in school. We work in partnership with our local universities, including the University of Nottingham, who have extensive international connections and campuses in Malaysia and China. In particular, we have worked closely with the Nottingham Confucius Institute over the last five years to introduce Mandarin into our curriculum and set up reciprocal visits with schools in China.

We also give pupils the opportunity to visit places across the world. Recently, this has included:

  • Apeldoorn, The Netherlands
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Berlin, Germany
  • Costa Brava, Spain
  • Cusco, Peru
  • Flanders, Belgium
  • Geneva, Switzerland
  • Lake Garda, Italy
